My practice covers a broad spectrum of mental health problems and issues in young children, school aged children, adolescents, young adults and adults. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities depending on the age of the individual and the presenting problem(s). I also specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults, particularly women, who have suffered trauma recently or in the past. Along with traditional psychotherapy techniques, I believe strongly in the value of Energy Psychology Techniques.

I do not have full-time or part-time support staff, so my office is only open when I am in the office. My schedule can change week by week but typically with the exceptions of Fridays, I am in the office most of the day on weekdays. I typically schedule children and adolescents during the late afternoon and early evening to accommodate their school schedule.

Initially, I schedule a 20 to 40 minute introductory session for patients to meet me, briefly describe their issue(s) and for us to determine if we are a good fit. I only work with patients whom I believe I can help using the resources I have available.

The usual therapy appointment is 50 minutes long. Group therapy sessions are longer and can vary in length such as 60 minutes, 75 minutes or 90 minutes. The majority of my appointment times start at the hour. Out of courtesy and respect for my patients, I strive to begin and end each session on time. Promptness on your part ensures that you will have your full session; otherwise our session will be the balance of the scheduled time.

If an appointment needs to be canceled for any reason, please call as soon as possible. To avoid being charged, a 24-hour notice needs to be given. Missed appointments and late cancellations will be billed to you. Insurance will not pay for these charges so you will be billed for the entire fee.

When you become a patient of mine, you will be given a copy of my Mental Health Service Agreement that outlines fees and billing procedures. I have contracted with Avid Medical Billing Services to submit to insurance carriers and to send out monthly bills. Your co-pay is due at the time of your appointment unless other arrangements have been made. Any checks need to be made out to Willow Brook Psychotherapy Services or me. If you pay by cash, I will hand write a receipt for you. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for any part of the bill that your insurance carrier does not cover, including deductibles, which will need to be paid promptly. If a dispute occurs with the insurance carrier, I will try to assist you but the main responsibility for resolving it belongs to you.

For non-emergency concerns, please call my office at 410-588-5876. Voice mail is available 24 hours a day. If you wish to have a call returned, please indicate that in your message. I typically check my messages first thing in the morning and during each break. If you call after hours, I will make every attempt to return your call within 24 hours. It is often difficult for me to return calls promptly since I need to fit them in between appointments. I only interrupt sessions for urgent emergencies.
